With worldwide anticipation growing, the upcoming Taraia Object Expedition led by Purdue and the Archaeological Legacy Institute (ALI) is gaining media traction, including recent coverage by The Associated Press.
The expedition team will travel by sea to Nikumaroro, a remote island located approximately halfway between Hawaii and Australia. Their target is a submerged anomaly detected by satellite imaging that could finally solve the 88-year-old mystery of Amelia Earhart’s disappearance.
If successful, the find would mark one of the most significant historical aviation discoveries of the 21st century.
