Robert E. “Bob” Phillips, 83, of Bedford, passed away at 5:53 pm on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at his residence.
Born July 6, 1942, in Springville, he was the son of Stanley and Georgia (Anderson) Phillips. He married Mary Flynn on January 19, 1962, and she preceded him in death on October 11, 2022. He later married Diane Kirkman on September 23, 2023, and she survives. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and the Indiana National Guard.
Survivors include his wife, Diane, of Bedford; a daughter, Maria Conklin and husband Rob, of Borden; a son, Chris Phillips, and wife Patricia, of Mitchell; two brothers, Herb Phillips and wife Gloria, and Bill Phillips and wife Diane, all of Springville; a step-daughter, Trina Nickerson, of Bedford; four step-sons, Jimmy Johnson, of Anderson, Tony Johnson, Josh Johnson, and wife Alicia, and Brian Johnson and wife Kristin, all of Bedford; grandchildren, Andrew Guarneri, Michael Guarneri and wife Cassy, Robert Guarneri and wife Haley, Josh Phillips and wife Brilee, Priya Phillips, and Cody Nickerson; step-grandchildren, Levi and Luke Estes, Sierra Nickerson, Lilly and Logan Johnson, Tyler Dees; several beloved great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, and a brother, Gary Phillips.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Thursday, July 10th, in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Brandt Kimmel officiating. Burial will follow in Springville Christian Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 am until the hour of service on Thursday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
