Olen Goins, 80, of Sneedville, TN, passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at 10:44 a.m. at IU Health in Bedford, IN. Born on November 10, 1944, he was the son of Clifford Goins and Cora (Collins) Goins.
Olen was of the Pentecostal faith. He loved flowers and gardening and worked at many quarries throughout Lawrence County.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, Ruby (Wheeler) Goins; his stepchildren, Chris (Julie) Conley, Sandra Conley, and Gala Hatfield; step-grandchildren, Jackie Russell, Kristle Hatfield, Zack Daily, and Tyler Daily; two sisters, Rosalee Kerry and Alene Wells; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford Goins and Cora Goins; his daughter, Stephanie; and six brothers and one step-son, George Conley “PJ”.
Funeral services for Olen will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at the Ferguson- Lee Chapel of Thorne Family Funeral Homes in Bedford, with Aaron Winford officiating. Burial will follow at Patton Hill Cemetery in Oolitic, IN. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the funeral home to help offset funeral expenses.
