SALEM — The Area 2 4-H Tractor Operator Contest will take place Tuesday, July 15, at the Washington County Fairgrounds in Salem, giving local youth a chance to showcase their skills behind the wheel.
The contest will feature three divisions: riding mower, zero-turn mower, and lawn tractor. Registration opens at 7:30 a.m., with competition beginning promptly at 8 a.m. at the fairgrounds, located at 118 N. Fair Street.
The top three participants in each division will earn the opportunity to compete in the Indiana State Fair Tractor Operator Contest on August 7. Organizers are already collecting t-shirt sizes in preparation for state qualifiers.
Participants must register by Sunday, July 7, at https://area2tractor.4honline.com.
The event is part of the 4-H youth development program and emphasizes safety, precision, and responsibility in equipment operation.
