CROTHERSVILLE – A small kitten has found a loving new home after a harrowing ordeal last week when it was thrown from a moving vehicle on U.S. 31 near Crothersville.
According to the Indiana State Police (ISP) Versailles Post, Trooper Tia Hunt was on patrol Friday when she observed a UPS delivery driver stopped along the side of the road. The driver informed Trooper Hunt that he had witnessed a kitten being thrown from a vehicle window and felt compelled to stop and check on the animal.

Together, the trooper and the driver located the tiny feline. Trooper Hunt then transported the kitten to the Jackson County Animal Clinic in Seymour for immediate medical attention. After X-rays and a thorough examination, the veterinarian reported that the kitten sustained some scrapes from road rash and an injured leg, but is expected to make a full recovery.
The resilient kitten, appropriately named “Crash,” has since been adopted by Trooper Hunt and her family, giving him a safe and caring environment.
The Indiana State Police are actively seeking any information regarding the driver responsible for throwing the kitten from the vehicle. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the authorities.
