MONROE CO. – With extreme temperatures posing a serious threat to health and safety, Monroe County has activated several cooling stations across the county to provide temporary relief for residents. These stations are open to individuals seeking to cool down and are available from Friday, June 20th, through Wednesday, June 25th.
While the cooling stations offer a respite from the heat, they are not equipped to provide food, showers, or areas for sleep. Individuals in need of overnight shelter are encouraged to utilize local shelters that offer such services. Visitors are asked to respect the rules of each station and refrain from entering restricted areas.
Pet-Friendly Locations: Pets are permitted at Monroe Fire Protection District Station 21 (Clear Creek) and Station 29 (Van Buren). All pets must be kept in a kennel or carrier.
