BLOOMINGTON- On June 18, 2025, at approximately 2:10 a.m., the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting in the 4600 block of South College Drive, located on the near south side of Bloomington. A 35-year-old female and a 38-year-old male were discovered at their residence, conscious and alert but suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to IU Health Bloomington Hospital for treatment. The female was released a few hours later, and the male remained at the hospital; however, both are expected to recover.
The exact details of the events leading up to the shooting are under investigation. Several neighbors were awakened by the incident and reported seeing at least one subject flee the area in a vehicle. The investigation is ongoing, and more details will be released as they become available. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office emphasizes that current information indicates this was a targeted incident and that there is no threat to public safety.
