Free nutrition class, meal kit offered for families in Bedford

BEDFORD — Local families will have the opportunity to learn healthy cooking and nutrition basics through a free four-week program hosted at the Lawrence County WIC Office beginning Monday, July 28, 2025.

The “Food for Health for Young Families” course will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. on July 28 and August 11, 18, and 25 at 2415 Mitchell Rd., Suite A. The program, designed to educate families on how to create simple, nutritious meals, includes weekly meal kits that serve four.

Participants will learn how to prepare baby food from fresh produce, cook simple dishes, and sample easy, homemade recipes. The initiative is a collaboration between the Lawrence County Health Department, Lawrence County WIC, and the Purdue Extension Nutrition Education Program.
