10 reasons our Papaw is better than your Papaw: Our Papa is the wittiest guy you’ve ever known. He is a man of few words, but he will get you with a zinger every time. He is generous to a fault. He will always make sure you have your favorite coffee when he goes to the store. He loved to work in his shop. He could make anything out of wood and would often make stuff for his family.
He was a single guy up until he met a beautiful woman in a diner, and the rest was history. 58 years later and still so in love. His wife, Geri (aka Jonesy), was by his side until he took his last breath.
We will miss Papaw roaming around the halls and humming whatever tune was in his head. He was such a special man and will be so missed.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 19th, in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastors Gary Thomas, Tom Jones, and Andrew Johnson officiating.
