Bloomington transit launches new on-demand micro-transit service, BLink

BLOOMINGTON—Bloomington Transit launched its new on-demand micro-transit service, BLink, on Monday, June 2. Similar to ride-sharing services like Uber or Lyft, BLink is integrated into the city’s public transportation system.

The service runs Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., connecting three designated zones: Downtown, East, and North Bloomington. BLink offers rides to approximately 150 pickup points, typically within a quarter-mile of a user’s location.

Rides can be booked up to 24 hours in advance using the BLink app or by calling 812-336-7433. Officials describe BLink as an “affordable, convenient way to get around town without needing your own car.”
