Bedford woman arrested for violating active protective order during dispute

BEDFORD – A Bedford woman was arrested Monday afternoon on a preliminary charge of invasion of privacy after an active protective order was found to be in violation.

Autumn Daugherty

Upon arrival, officers located a male and Autumn Daugherty, 19, walking in the area. Initial questioning revealed that the two had been in a disagreement.

Further investigation by Officer Hatton revealed an active protective order against Autumn Daugherty, with the male listed as the protected party. Despite the male stating he had called to have the protective order dropped, authorities confirmed with Lawrence County Dispatch and the Lawrence County Prosecutor’s Office that the order remained active.

Autumn Daugherty was subsequently placed into custody and transported to the Lawrence County Jail for housing on the charge of invasion of privacy.

A Probable Cause Affidavit outlines the initial findings and allegations that led to an arrest. Criminal charges are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
