Obituary: Elmer Todd

January 20, 1936 – May 29, 2025

Elmer Todd, 89, of Springville, passed away at 12:15 a.m. on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at IU Health Hospice House in Bloomington.

Born January 20, 1936, in Heltonville, he was the son of Logan and Izolla (Hawkins) Todd. He married Susan (Baker) Phillips on October 6, 1996, and she survives. He worked as an auto body repairman at Bloomington Collision Center. He loved sitting on the porch watching the birds and was an avid fan of dirt track racing.

Survivors include his wife, Susan, of Springville; two children, Tracy Todd and wife, Anita, of Heltonville, Teresa (Todd) Hoff and her husband, Kirk, of Mitchell; two step-sons, Randy Phillips and his wife, Maria, of Springville, and Dannie Phillips, of Indianapolis; fivegrandchildren, Jason Todd, Jarrod Todd, Kimberly Todd, T.J. Arsenault, and Heather Deckard; seven step-grandchildren, Bryan Phillips and wife, Susan, Tammy Baker and her husband, Tristan, Chad Phillips and wife, Jamie, Becky Humphrey, and her husband, Chance, Ben Phillips, and his wife, Crystal, Matt Phillips, and Stacey Phillips; several great-grandchildren; a brother, Alfred Todd and wife, Phyllis.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Wyvetta (Kinser) Todd-Hodge; a daughter, Kimberly Arsenault; several brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 31st, in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Brother Marty Speer officiating. Burial will follow in Smithville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 30th, at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
