SOLSBERRY – Indiana State Police detectives have launched an investigation into the death of an infant in Greene County.
The investigation commenced on Tuesday, following a notification from the Indiana Department of Child Services regarding the infant’s passing.
Detectives from the Indiana State Police visited IU Health Bloomington Hospital as part of their information-gathering process. Crime Scene Investigators were also dispatched to collect evidence from both the hospital and the residence where the infant was born.
Authorities have confirmed that the infant’s mother is a minor. An autopsy is pending to determine the exact cause of death.
Indiana State Police officials stated that this is an active and ongoing investigation, and no further information will be released at this time.
