BLOOMINGTON– In response to the recent tornadoes and severe storms that have caused significant damage across the region, the United Way of South Central Indiana has launched a Disaster Relief Fund to support recovery efforts for low-to-moderate-income residents in Monroe and Greene counties.

The United Way of South Central Indiana, in collaboration with Monroe County Community Organizations Active in Disaster (COAD) and Greene County officials, has established this fund to address short-term and long-term needs unmet by traditional assistance programs. Donations are urgently requested to provide immediate relief and aid in rebuilding communities and families in the coming months. Every dollar contributed will be directed towards disaster recovery efforts.
“Whether you were directly impacted or are supporting friends and neighbors who were, please know our thoughts are with you,” the United Way of South Central Indiana stated in a recent announcement, emphasizing the community’s strength in coming together during times of hardship.
Residents wishing to contribute to the relief efforts can donate online at unitedwaysci.org/DisasterRelief.
For individuals or families affected by the storms, Indiana 2-1-1 is available to connect them with local resources (dial 2-1-1 or visit https://in211.org). Local response information is also available through various community links.
