BEDFORD– Local pastureland owners and enthusiasts are invited to a special field day focused on the crucial role of soil health and effective pasture management. Specialists from the Indiana State Department of Agriculture (ISDA), the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), and Premier Ag will lead the informative event.

Participants will gain valuable insights into several key areas, including the importance of conducting soil tests on pastures and how to utilize the ISDA Soil Sampling Program. Experts will also explain how to interpret soil test results to make informed decisions about pasture management.
The program will cover best management practices tailored for pasturelands and explore quality forage options, including the integration of cover crops.
This educational event will occur on Friday, May 23rd, from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at 1115 E Kenray Lake Road, Bedford, Indiana. The program will proceed even in light rain, so attendees are advised to dress appropriately for the weather. Participants are also encouraged to bring a chair for the free lunch provided.
