BEDFORD – The Bedford Parks Department requests that all cemetery decorations be removed from graves at Beech Grove Cemetery in preparation for the upcoming mowing season.
According to an official notice, all flowers and decorations should be removed by Thursday, May 22nd, 2025.
The Parks Department also reminded visitors of the Bedford City Ordinance #92, passed on August 27, 1990, which outlines the following guidelines for cemetery decorations:
- No flowers, shrubs, decorative plants nor trees are permitted to be planted at the cemetery.
- All flowers or decorations must be placed on the headstones or Shepherd’s hooks.
The Parks Department’s request is necessary to facilitate efficient and safe grounds maintenance as the mowing season begins. The cooperation of lot holders in removing decorations by the specified date will be greatly appreciated.
