Sullivan woman arrested after using ladder to break into home, violating no contact order

SULLIVAN – Sullivan Police arrested a woman Wednesday night after responding to a report of a breaking and entering in progress in the 1100 block of Main Street.

Upon arrival, officers and Sullivan County Sheriff’s deputies observed a ladder positioned to access a window and heard movement inside the home. As officers secured the perimeter, a woman exited the residence through a rear door and was immediately detained.

The woman was 61-year-old Tina Gourley of Sullivan. Police determined that an active no-contact order was in place between Gourley and the homeowner.

Gourley was also found to be intoxicated at the time of her arrest.

She was subsequently lodged in the Sullivan County Jail on preliminary charges of residential entry, invasion of privacy, and disorderly conduct.

Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
