JACKSON CO. – The Jackson County Public Library has announced the resumption of limited hours at two branches. Starting today, Thursday, May 8th, the Crothersville Library will be open from noon to 6 p.m., and the Medora Library will resume the same hours.
The Medora Library’s scheduled teen Sip & Paint program for Thursday will proceed as planned.
The Crothersville Library’s regular operating schedule is Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
The Medora Library is typically open on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
However, the Seymour Library will remain closed to the public until sufficient staff members are ready to return to work. Once the Seymour Library reopens, the library administration requests that the public refrain from asking staff for details regarding the closure circumstances. The library staff and board have expressed gratitude to the public for their understanding.
In related news, the Friends’ bi-monthly sale scheduled for Saturday and Sunday has been cancelled.
While the library branches in Seymour, Crothersville, and Medora face these temporary changes, library cardholders have alternative options for accessing library services. An Evergreen Indiana library card, available at any Jackson County library location, can be used at the Brownstown Public Library, Jennings County Public Library in North Vernon, or the Scott County Public Library branches in Austin, Lexington, or Scottsburg. Due to a local agreement, Jackson County library cardholders can also visit the Bartholomew County Public Library in Columbus or Hope.
