BEDFORD – The Bedford Street & Sanitation Department provides a brush pickup service for city residents in accordance with city ordinance.
Residents within Bedford city limits can request brush pickup by calling the department’s office at (812) 279-9222.
According to city regulations, brush, limbs, branches, and logs must be stacked neatly at the curb with the base or cut ends pointing towards the street for collection. The City Utilities Sanitation Department will collect these items on a call-in basis.
The city ordinance specifies that the property owner is responsible for the removal of trees topped, pruned, or removed by a contractor. The owner must arrange and pay for the disposal of all limbs and logs generated by such work.
