LINTON— Greene County General Hospital (GCGH) is excited to announce a new partnership with AblePay. This is a healthcare consumer program that provides savings, flexible payment options, and a convenient way to pay out-of-pocket medical expenses at no extra cost to patients.
How it works is AblePay reimburses providers within 14 days at an agreed-upon discounted rate for all out-of-pocket expenses incurred by patients enrolled in AblePay. The company then offers patients a range of options to pay off their balances to AblePay, including discounts of up to 13% for prompt payment and terms out to 24 months. It’s free for patients to use AblePay’s services.
Patients enroll online and receive an AblePay ID card. They present this card and their insurance card when they seek treatment from a GCGH provider. The charge will be processed by the primary health insurance first. Patients will receive an Explanation of Benefits, and the portion they are responsible for paying will be sent to AblePay electronically from GCGH, instead of being sent directly to the patient. AblePay will pay GCGH on the patient’s behalf, and then AblePay notifies patients that they have a new claim on their member portal. Patients will review the bill for accuracy and choose the payment term and method that meets their financial needs. The patients then pay AblePay for what they paid on the patient’s behalf.
