BEDFORD— With neon lights, leg warmers, and the spirit of the 1980s alive and well, Becky’s Place hosted a lively dance party earlier this month that brought together the community for a night of fun—and made a major impact for local families in need.

Held on April 5 at St. Vincent’s Shamrock Center, the 80s Dance Party drew 270 attendees who came ready to dance, reminisce, and support Becky’s Place’s mission. Thanks to the generosity of sponsors and guests, the event raised more than $35,000 to benefit homeless women and children who rely on the shelter’s services.

Becky’s Place, a ministry of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis, provides shelter, case management, counseling, educational resources, vocational training, life skills development, and other support services for women and children working toward self-sufficiency.
Events like the 80s Dance Party help ensure that Becky’s Place can continue offering critical services to some of the community’s most vulnerable members. Organizers said the funds raised will directly support daily operations, including housing, meals, and individualized case plans for residents.
The festive evening featured a variety of exciting activities, including a silent auction, a caricature artist, a 50/50 raffle, and food provided by Agape Catering. DJ Pam Thrash kept the energy high with classic ’80s hits.
