Lowell Troopers make 679 OWI arrest in 2024

NORTHWEST INDIANA- Troopers assigned to the Indiana State Police Lowell Post had a very busy 2024 when it came to DUI enforcement. Troopers combined to remove a total of 679 impaired drivers from our roadways.

Lt. Terrance Weems, District Commander at the Lowell Post, is very proud of the initiative and commitment that the Lowell Troopers display daily, making our roadways safer. He stated, “While I am very pleased that the Lowell Post Troopers were able to remove this many impaired drivers from the roadways, this is 679 too many. With all of the messaging that is out there, it should not be easy to locate impaired drivers. Unfortunately, it is not.

Troopers will continue to make DUI enforcement a priority, and the message remains the same: drive sober or get pulled over.”
