Indiana State Police honors Detective David Vido with Commendation Award for exceptional service in Delphi investigation

INDIANAPOLIS— At the 2025 Indiana State Police Annual Awards Ceremony, Superintendent Anthony Scott presented a Commendation Award to Detective David Vido in recognition of his outstanding commitment and exceptional investigative work during the long-running Delphi homicide investigation.

From February 14, 2017, through December 20, 2024, Detective Vido was an integral part of the investigative team working to solve the murders of 13-year-old Abigail Williams and 14-year-old Liberty German. His involvement spanned multiple phases of the case, including reviewing initial evidence, conducting interviews, and preparing for trial. Throughout the investigation, he dedicated himself to reviewing thousands of tips and communications and conducting hundreds of interviews to help identify and pursue viable leads.

Detective Vido’s detailed documentation, perseverance, and methodical approach were instrumental in advancing the case. His long-term commitment exemplifies the resilience and professionalism required in such a complex investigation.

This commendation recognizes Detective Vido’s exceptional service and the credit he brings to both himself and the Indiana State Police through his tireless efforts to secure justice for the victims and their families.
