CORYDON – Bedford North Lawrence finished third in the 15-team field during the Corydon Invitational at Old Capital Golf Club on Saturday.
The Stars carded a team total of 335. Gibson Southern won the event with 311, while Corydon was second with 320.
Tyler Bellush and Evan Tillett paced BNL with scores of 79.
”We made some big numbers today but were able to get in the clubhouse with some good scores,” BNL coach Trey Turner said. “Those were, by far, the fastest greens we have played on this year, so it took us a little while to adjust. Once we got the speed down, we settled in and played some good golf.”
Coleson Stiles posted 87 and Drew McKee capped the scoring for the Stars with 90.
Gibson Southern’s Peyton Blackard won a two-hole playoff for medalist with Providence’s Blaine Beckort after carding a two-under 70.
BNL will host Paoli at Otis Park on Monday.
