JASPER – Bedford North Lawrence conquered Jasper and Perry Central during Unified track action on Wednesday.
The Stars totaled 164 points to top the Wildcats (125) and Commodores (77).
Winners for BNL included Ryan Sheeley and Trace Walters (shot put), Rex Evans and Patric Matson (long jump), Katie Sites, Sophie Jackson and Jaxon Donnell (100), Carson Puckett (400), plus the girls and boys 400 relay teams.
“The team performed very well for this point in the season,” BNL coach Mike Branam said. “We had several kids who had personal bests, while others showed consistency – which is a desirable trait. I believe our biggest obstacle at this point is ourselves. Like most high school programs, we really need to continue to work on our mental game. Once we really get a handle on that, I think the kids will continue to see breakthroughs.”
BNL will host its Unified Invitational on Saturday.
