BEDFORD – The Lawrence County Commissioners have given the green light for the annual Limestone Heritage Festival to utilize the west side of the courthouse square. The request was made by Bon Flores, a board member of Bedford Revitalization Inc., and approved by the commissioners.

This beloved community celebration of the region’s rich limestone history is set to take place on Bedford Square on Friday, June 27th, and Saturday, June 28th.
The festival is a highlight of Limestone Month, which is celebrated each year in June, and promises a wide array of activities for both residents and visitors. Attendees can look forward to engaging in downtown architectural walking tours, marveling at the intricate limestone carving exhibit, and admiring entries in the photography contest.
Live music performances at Harp Commons will further enhance the vibrant atmosphere. The festival also provides a fantastic opportunity to support local businesses by shopping at downtown stores and boutiques and enjoying meals at downtown restaurants. For those looking for a quick bite, a variety of food trucks will be located on J Street.
The Limestone Heritage Festival will also feature its traditional parade, a spectacular fireworks display, and the regular offerings of the Bedford Farmers Market. With more activities promised, the Limestone Heritage Festival on the last weekend of June is shaping up to be a can’t-miss event celebrating the unique heritage of Lawrence County.
