
JACKSON CO. — A 28-year-old Jackson County man is now in custody following his arrest on Saturday in connection with the murder of his father, 76-year-old Larry D. Fox of Norman.

According to a press release from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department (JCSD), detectives had been actively investigating the homicide since it occurred on January 30. Their efforts culminated in the arrest of Robert W. D. Fox of Norman around 4:50 p.m. on Saturday, April 19. Police believe the younger Fox shot and killed his father.
The JCSD reported that the investigation involved collecting numerous pieces of evidence and conducting interviews with several individuals.
Previous reports from the night of the incident revealed that Jackson County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the 11000 block of West 325 North near Norman at 9:07 p.m. on January 30. Upon arrival, authorities discovered two men, both the older Fox and the younger Fox, with apparent gunshot wounds. Larry Fox was pronounced dead at the scene. Robert Fox suffered a gunshot wound to the arm and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Robert Fox was arrested without incident at 4:50 p.m. Saturday in Seymour and booked into the Jackson County Jail on preliminary charges of murder.
All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
