SEYMOUR – Signups are now open for free Safe Sitter classes offered this summer in Seymour’s Schneck Medical Center area. These valuable one-day classes, taught by specially trained team members from Schneck Medical Center, are designed to equip young babysitters with essential life and safety skills grounded in medical knowledge.

The Safe Sitter program focuses on providing sitters with the tools and confidence to handle emergencies and ensure the safety of the children in their care. Participants will learn crucial skills to navigate various situations that may arise while babysitting.
These comprehensive classes are open to students entering sixth through eighth grades. Registration is required, and each class is limited to 12 students to ensure personalized attention. The classes will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at various locations throughout the area, and interested individuals are encouraged to register quickly as spots tend to fill up fast.
The first class is scheduled for May 30th at the Boys and Girls Club of Jennings County. A second class will be held on May 31st in the classroom at the Schneck Professional Building in Seymour. Additional courses are also planned for Scottsburg and Salem, offering convenient options for families in the surrounding communities.

Interested individuals can visit the Schneck Medical Center website for a complete schedule of all available classes and to register online.
This is a fantastic opportunity for young individuals in the region to gain valuable skills and become more responsible and prepared babysitters. Parents looking for qualified and safety-conscious caregivers are encouraged to share this information with their networks.
