Soil Health and Sustainability training for Midwestern Field Staff is June 9-12

WEST LAFAYETTE – Registration is now open for the CCSI-SARE Soil Health and Sustainability for Midwestern Field Staff (3 1/2 Day Soil Health) Training.

This is an advanced soil health workshop for Indiana Conservation Partnership staff (NRCS, SWCD, Extension, ISDA, IDEM, IDNR, FSA) and other ag professionals who work one-on-one with farmers and landowners. Attendees will learn to teach others about soil health, its importance, diagnosis, and practices to improve soil health. They will also know what to look for in a soil pit and learn about their soil health systems from local farmers.

Note: This course satisfies USDA-NRCS requirements for those seeking a Certified Conservation Planner designation.

  • What: CCSI-SARE Soil Health and Sustainability for Midwestern Field Staff
  • When: June 9-12, 2025, in person
  • Where: Beck Agricultural Center at the Agronomy Center for Research and Education, 4550 US-52, West Lafayette, IN 47906
  • Suggested prerequisites: Completion of CCSI-SARE Fundamentals of Soil Health AND CCSI-SARE Intro to Soil Health OR an undergraduate soils course. Also recommended: several months (ideally 1 year) of experience working for your respective agency.

Seats are limited and have been reserved by the organization. Officials will be taking waitlist names. On June 2nd, any unused seats will be distributed to waitlisted individuals, and any remaining seats will be opened to the general public.
