Lizzie ‘Liz’ L. Roberts, 88, of Bedford, passed away on Friday evening, April 11, 2025, at the White River Lodge in Bedford.
Born in Anacoco, LA, on February 7, 1937, she was the daughter of Martin Luther Perry and Evie Ann Goins-Perry. She married Homer Don Roberts, and he preceded her in death on October 15, 1993. Liz was of the Christian Faith. She loved singing Gospel music and spending time with her family. She was a homemaker who loved to cook, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Surviving to cherish the memory of Liz are her three sons, Greg (Su) Anderson of Bloomington, Shane (Leigh) Roberts of Owensburg, and Chad (Sarah) Roberts of Springville; 10 grandchildren, Bianca (Adam) Schiffman, Justin (Kristen) Jones, Stephanie (Beau) Bastian, Shile (Brittany) Anderson, Darrah (Woody) Hatchett, Colden (Day) Roberts, Eden Anderson, Kendale Roberts, Davin Anderson, and Kaylynn Roberts; 11 great-grandchildren, Violet, Jett, Parker, Henry, Bowen, Brody, Zane (Zoii), Nadia (Trace), Dirk, Bo, and Baby Girl Roberts; one brother, Willie Harold (Marcelle) Perry; and one sister, Bobbie Leonard.
Preceding Liz in death are her parents, Martin Luther and Evie Ann Perry; her husband, Homer Don Roberts; one son, Paul Michael Marks; one daughter, Shawnee Simmons; one granddaughter, Hunter Roberts; and several brothers, sisters, nephews and nieces.
Funeral services for Liz will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 18, 2025, at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes in Bedford with her nephew, Bro. Les Comeaux, officiating. Burial will follow, next to Homer Don, in the Owensburg Cemetery in Owensburg, Indiana. Family and friends will gather for a visitation on Thursday, April 17th, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel in Bedford.
