BNL finishes 7th in FC Invitational

BNL’s Evan Tillett paced the Stars with an 80 during Saturday’s Floyd Central Invitational.

GALENA – Bedford North Lawrence finished seventh in the 19-team Floyd Central Invitational during boys high school golf action on Saturday.

The Stars carded a team total of 336. No.9 Castle won the title with 307, followed by No.11 Evansville North (308) and No.14 Corydon (319).

Evan Tillett paced BNL with an 80 at Valley View, while Tyler Bellush posted 83.

”We left a lot of shots out there,” BNL coach Trey Turner said. “You could tell it was the first tournament of the year. We still have some rust to knock off.

“I was happy with the way that Evan played in his first high school tournament. He started losing his ball right late in the round but battled really hard coming in. We need to get back to work next week to clean some things up.”

Corydon’s Eli Rowland was the medalist with 71, while Evansville North’s Luke Johnston also fired a 71.

BNL will compete in the Washington Invitational on April 19.
