BEDFORD – The Lawrence County Cattle Association (LCCA) is offering four $1,000 scholarships to deserving high school graduates from Lawrence County. The scholarships aim to support local students in pursuing higher education, regardless of their chosen field of study.
Applications must be postmarked or delivered in person by April 11, 2025.
The LCCA has outlined the following guidelines for applicants:
- Educational Opportunities: Scholarships are available for students attending any college, junior college, short course, or trade school.
- Academic Focus: While both agriculture and non-agriculture majors are considered, preference may be given to students pursuing agricultural studies.
- Equal Opportunity: Scholarships will be awarded based on merit, regardless of gender.
- Association Affiliation: While family members of LCCA members receive higher consideration, applicants do not need to have direct family ties to the association.
- Award Announcement: Scholarship winners will be announced during the Lawrence County 4-H Fair.
- Proof of Completion: Recipients must provide proof of first-semester completion and second-semester enrollment via an unofficial transcript.
- Award Presentation: Scholarships will be presented at the LCCA annual meeting, where recipients or their representatives must be present to receive the award.
- Payment: Scholarship checks will be made payable to the individual award winners.
- Forfeiture: Recipients who fail to complete their first semester or enroll in the second will forfeit the scholarship.
- Transcript Requirement: Applicants must include a copy of their high school transcripts.
