On Friday, March 14, at approximately 12:18 a.m., Indiana State Police Trooper Jesse L. Crane was contacted by Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department Captain Harrison Fleetwood regarding a possible impaired driver he had stopped. Captain Fleetwood had initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle due to a failure to signal when turning from 7th Street onto Lincoln Avenue.

Trooper Crane arrived on the scene to conduct an OWI investigation. Upon approaching the driver, Morgan Meehan, Trooper Crane, observed a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from her person, red/glassy eyes, slurred speech, and poor balance.

Trooper Crane conducted the three standardized field sobriety tests. Meehan failed those tests.

Meehan was administered a Preliminary Breath Test (PBT). Meehan tested positive for alcohol with a result of 0.217.

Trooper Crane read Morgan Meehan Indiana OWI Implied Consent, and she agreed to a chemical test. A certified breath test was administered at the Lawrence County Jail, and the result was 0.199 g/210L of breath at 12:52 a.m.

Meehan was arrested and transported to the Lawrence County Jail.

Those facing criminal charges are considered innocent unless convicted through due legal proceedings. Accusations alone do not imply guilt; the judicial system will evaluate the presented evidence to reach a verdict.
