LAWRENCE and ORANGE CO. – Overnight storms have left a trail of widespread damage and power outages across the region, impacting numerous Duke Energy customers.
Crews are engaged in extensive damage assessments and restoration efforts, working diligently to restore power to affected areas.
Duke Energy anticipates that the majority of customers will have their power restored by midnight tonight. However, the severity of the damage in specific locations, particularly in Lawrence and Orange Counties, may result in some customers remaining without power until tomorrow.
Crews are committed to restoring power as quickly and safely as possible.
Duke Energy is deploying additional crews from other parts of their Indiana and Ohio operations to expedite the restoration process. These reinforcements will join the local teams in their round-the-clock efforts to repair damaged infrastructure and reconnect customers.
Residents are advised to exercise caution around downed power lines and report any hazards to Duke Energy immediately. We will provide updates on restoration progress as soon as we have them.
