Samuel L. Shaw, 84, of Bedford, passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2025.
He was born on July 30, 1940, in Shoals, Indiana, to Napoleon and Mabel (Bledsoe) Shaw. He was a 1958 graduate of Shoals High School.
His three sons survive, Scott of Liberty, MO, Brent of Gladstone, MO, and Butch of Louisville, KY.
He was known in Bedford as the “Sign Man” and submitted countless letters to the editor passionately defending any real or perceived restrictions on his freedoms. Most agreed with the principles he stood for, but not necessarily how he defended them, but Sam always did it his way. Sam loved to sing, dance, and spend time with his friends and pets.
Cremation was chosen, and a visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until Noon on Monday, March 24th, at the Queen-Lee Chapel of George Funeral Care.
