Charles D. Raines, 76, of Bedford, passed away at 6:15 pm on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at his residence. Born October 8, 1948, in Fayetteville, he was the son of Henry and Reba (Baker) Raines. He married Sue Hasseld on January 14, 1971, and she survives. He had worked in maintenance for the Hospitality House for 28 years and as a handyman and cemetery caretaker for 20 years. He was a member of the Mundell Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Sue, of Bedford; two daughters, Nickie Holt and husband, Ashley, of Mitchell and Mindy Wisley and husband, John, of Heltonville; seven grandchildren, Jordyn Holt, Ryan Holt, Keith Wisley, and wife, Arien, Kara Morris and husband, Landon, Trevor Holt and wife, Laurel, Seth Wisley, Quinn Wisley and wife, Marissa; great- grandchildren, Adaline, Elaina, Juliette, Everett, Lorelei, Georgia, and one on the way; two sisters, Geri Dunn and Sue Murphy; a brother, Harold Raines; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Levi Wisley; three brothers, Bill, Wendell, and Donald; five sisters, Margaret, Martha, Lorene, Betty and Lee.
A celebration of life will be conducted at 6:00 pm on Friday, March 7th at Mundell Christian Church with John Wisley and Ashley Holt officiating. Family and friends may express condolences at www.daycarter.com.
