Girl Scout Troop 4678 spreads Valentine’s cheer to local veterans

BEDFORD – Lawrence County Girl Scout Troop 4678 showed their appreciation for local veterans this Valentine’s Day by delivering handmade cards to the Lawrence County Veterans office at the courthouse. The cards will be distributed to veterans visiting the office.

The troop’s efforts aimed to express gratitude for the sacrifices veterans and their families have made.

“Every veteran deserves to feel the love we have for the sacrifices they and their families have made,” said Veteran Affairs Officer Bough. “Making a heartfelt decorated card is just one small token to show our veterans they are not forgotten or alone. I sincerely thank these Girl Scouts for their kindness towards Lawrence County Veterans.”

Girl Scout Leader Maria Pujols, a veteran herself, emphasized the importance of the gesture. “Presenting Valentines is one way to unite, share love and support for our veterans, and thank them for their service,” Pujols explained. She noted many veterans missed holidays, including Valentine’s Day while serving the country. This is just a small token to show our appreciation. We will never forget your selfless service,”

Pujols added the handcrafted Valentine’s cards are each a symbol of thanks and remembrance.
