Melissa Ann Root Langley, 67, of Bedford, died peacefully in her sleep on Friday, February 7, 2025, following a long and debilitating battle with early-onset dementia.
Born June 27, 1957, Melissa is the daughter of Robert E. and Carol Ann (Divine) Root. She graduated with honors from BNL’s first class in 1975 and was the Limestone Festival Queen in 1974. She attended Indiana University for two years before leaving to follow her dreams of dancing.
Melissa is preceded in death by her parents.
Melissa is survived by her sister, Cheryl A. Patton, and her brother, John E. Root, as well as nieces and nephews Melissa Hale McCoy, Amanda Patton, Shannon Root Crawford, and Eric Root.
Services will be held at Cresthaven Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens on Friday, February 14, 2025. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to Noon, followed by the funeral service.
