City of Bloomington Utilities issues precautionary Boil Water Advisory for four address

BLOOMINGTON– On Friday, February 7, 2025, City of Bloomington Utilities (CBU) crews were dispatched to repair a broken water main at E Buick Cadillac Blvd & 720 S College Mall Rd. Four addresses are under a precautionary Boil Water Advisory until 10 a.m. Sunday, February 9, 2025, unless otherwise notified. Please find specific addresses and more information at bloomington.in.gov/utilities.

The Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) requires all public water systems to issue a precautionary Boil Water Advisory when the pressure drops below 20 psi in the water main. Those affected should follow these instructions:

  • Immediately after your normal water pressure is restored, run COLD water from a sink or tub until clear water flows from the faucet.
  • Boil all water used for drinking, cooking, and oral hygiene for at least 5 minutes before consumption.
  • It is not necessary to boil water for other uses.

Affected customers with up-to-date contact information with CBU Customer Service were alerted directly. Customers can use the form at bton.in/cbu24 to update their contact information electronically.
