BLOOMINGTON – A 14-year-old boy reported being shot in the calf Saturday night in Bloomington but provided conflicting information about the incident, according to police.
The boy’s injuries were minor and treated by medics at his grandmother’s house south of Bloomington on Sunday afternoon.
The teen initially told police he was shot while sleeping on a bench at the park located at the corner of Illinois Street and Illinois Court in the Crestmont neighborhood. He later changed his account, claiming the shooting occurred at an apartment in the same area, but offered no further details about the circumstances or the person responsible.
Police say the incident remains under investigation.
