Former Morgan County attorney pleads guilty to seven felonies

MARTINSVILLE–  On Friday, January 17th, the former Morgan County Attorney changed his plea from not guilty to that of guilty.

James K. Wisco, of Martinsville, appeared in Morgan Superior Court 2 and agreed to enter a guilty plea. He had been arrested without incident by Indiana State Police Detectives from the Special Investigations Unit in April 2024.

At the time of the investigation’s start, Wisco served as the attorney for Morgan County and was a member of the Martinsville City Council. He was also a practicing attorney for the law firm Foley, Peden, & Wisco.

On Friday, Wisco entered a guilty plea to the following charges:

  • Count II: Theft, a Level 6 Felony (Lesser Included)
  • Count III: Theft, a Level 6 Felony
  • Count IV: Theft, a Level 6 Felony
  • Count V:   Theft, a Level 6 Felony
  • Count VI: Theft, a Level 6 Felony
  • Count XIII: Theft, a Level 6 Felony
  • Count XIV: Theft, a Level 6 Felony

Wisco’s sentence court date is scheduled for April 25, 2025, in Morgan Superior Court 2.
