INDIANA – Residents of Daviess, Dubois, Martin, and Pike Counties are encouraged to participate in the “No Trash in the River” campaign, an anti-littering initiative led by Lower East Fork White River watershed coordinator Julie Lochr. The campaign aims to reduce trash along roads and in natural areas, preventing it from polluting local waterways.

Here’s how to get involved:
- Gather friends or family to clean up a favorite outdoor spot and document your efforts with a photo.
- Submit your photo to Julie Lochr via text at 812-779-7924 or email at julie.lochr@in.nacdnet.net.
- One winning group from each county will be recognized at the Soil and Water Conservation District’s annual meeting.
The contest runs through December 31, 2024. Participants are also encouraged to spread awareness about the importance of proper trash disposal and avoiding littering.
This initiative beautifies the community and protects vital waterways from pollution.
