
WASHINGTON – Officers from the Washington Police Department responded to a reported stabbing at 400 Hillcrest Avenue on Wednesday, December 11, at approximately 2:53 p.m. Emergency personnel arrived to find a 42-year-old male bleeding from the head, the victim of a violent altercation.
The incident was initially reported through multiple 911 calls, with one witness stating that the victim had been injured during a dispute. Emergency medical teams quickly transported the victim to Daviess Community Hospital for treatment, where his condition is currently unknown.

Following a swift investigation, 24-year-old Kyle Hovis was arrested in connection with the stabbing. He now faces several charges, including aggravated battery, domestic battery resulting in serious bodily injury, and battery resulting in serious bodily injury.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the altercation involved multiple law enforcement agencies, and it concluded that Hovis was booked at the security center later that evening.
Currently, the case remains under investigation, and authorities are working to determine the full details surrounding the incident.
