Jim Banks wins Indiana Republican Senate Primary

COLUMBIA CITY – Jim Banks officially became the Republican nominee for Senate in Indiana Tuesday night.

“Last January, we announced my bid to represent Indiana in the United States Senate. Today, I was honored to officially become the Republican nominee,” Congressman Banks said. “I got into this race because Indiana is a conservative state and deserves unwavering conservative leadership in the Senate. I have enjoyed traveling the state over the past year making it clear that as your Senator I will fight to secure our border, get our economy back on track and defeat the radical Left’s woke agenda. Our nation is at a crossroads, and we absolutely need to take the Senate back, grow our majority in the house and get President Trump back in the White House this November to turn things back around. Words can not express how grateful my family and I are for the support we have received from our state and the Republican party through this process, and I will continue to bring our Hoosier values to Washington.”

The Republican party coalesced around Jim Banks for Senate after he announced his race last January. President Donald Trump formally endorsed Banks shortly after the launch, writing on Truth Social that he is “Strong on the Border, Crime, our Military, and our Vets. Jim will fight for low taxes and regulations, Sanity in Government, and our under siege 2nd Amendment.  The Indiana GOP endorsed Banks at the state party dinner last August, an unprecedented move in an open-seat primary.

Congressman Banks currently serves Indiana’s Third Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives. He is running to replace Senator Mike Braun (R-IN), who is not seeking re-election. Born and raised in Indiana, Jim and his wife Amanda are the proud parents to three young daughters, and they are honored to serve Northeast Indiana in Washington.
