Driver under the influence of meth involved in deadly weekend crash

SPENCER CO. — Authorities in Spencer County say the driver involved in a deadly crash in Spencer County was under the influence of meth.

The accident claimed the life of 66-year-old Noeal Vaughan of Evansville.

The crash was reported on Sunday. Authorities say that Vaughan was riding as the passenger in a truck at the time of the single-vehicle crash. He was ejected from the vehicle.

On Monday, Spencer County Sheriff’s Department deputies arrested the driver, Angel Rios.

According to the sheriff’s office, Rios had been taken to the hospital after the crash. A blood test confirmed Rios had meth and amphetamines in his system.
