Bridge work planned on State Road 144 in Johnson County

JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. — Indiana Department of Transportation contractor E&B Paving, Inc. plans to begin a bridge rehabilitation project on State Road 144 over Moose Creek on or after Monday, May 6, in Johnson County.

Work will take place on S.R. 144 in Hopewell near County Road 100 West. While work is in progress, S.R. 144 will be reduced to one lane over Moose Creek using temporary traffic signals. Motorists will be unable to access C.R.100 W. from S.R. 144 throughout the duration of the project. Signage will be placed in the area prior to the start of construction. Work is expected to be complete by late November, weather permitting.

This work is part of a $5.2 million contract awarded to E&B Paving in March 2024. The contract includes a total of five district bridge projects located throughout Johnson and Morgan Counties. INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution and avoid distractions when traveling in and near work zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
