Bloomington District Troopers conduct patrols during the Little 500 weekend

BLOOMINGTON— Indiana State Police Bloomington District Troopers conducted traffic and criminal patrols on Friday and Saturday during the Little 500 weekend.

The weekend patrol resulted in 54 citations and 142 warnings for various traffic violations. Troopers investigated one vehicle crash and conducted one inspection of a commercial motor vehicle of more than 10,000 pounds while providing 31 police services.

During the patrols, Troopers conducted several operating while intoxicated investigations, which resulted in the administration of two certified breath tests and three blood draws. As a result of the patrols, Troopers initiated 13 criminal arrests, including one felony arrest, and seized marijuana.

In addition to conducting the traffic and criminal patrols, Troopers assisted the Bloomington Police Department and Monroe County Sheriff’s Office during emergency calls to service, including a shooting on the west side of Bloomington Friday evening. Trooper Clay McBride deployed his canine partner Noble two times over the weekend.
