Robert “Bob” J. Meadows, 87, of Bedford, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at
11:07 pm at I.U. Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Born January 16, 1937, in Bedford, he was
the son of Stanley D. Meadows and Lydia (Roberts) Meadows. He married Linda Deckard on
May 21, 1955, and she survives.
Robert was an excellent carpenter. He loved farming and working with his cattle. He was a
member of the Leatherwood Christian Church, where he was the song leader for 50 years.
Robert is survived by his wife, Linda Deckard; five children, Tevin (Nancy) Meadows, Tracey
(Jerry) Clampitt, Terri (Bill) Golay, Toran (Tracey) Meadows, Todd (Dashia) Meadows; one
brother, Mike Meadows; one sister, Phyllis Nilson; eleven grandchildren; nineteen great
grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Donnie Meadows.
Funeral services for Robert will be held Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at 11:00 am at the Leatherwood
Christian Church in Bedford. Burial will follow at Leatherwood Cemetery in Bedford. Visitation
for Robert will be held Monday, April 22, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Ferguson-Lee
Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes.
