Request for a welfare check lands man behind bars on drug charges

BEDFORD – Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department deputies requested to do a welfare check and arrest a man on drug charges.

On Tuesday, April 9th, Deputy Bailey Duprey responded to a home in the 4000 block of Peerless Road after a request to do a welfare check on a woman. The person said he was concerned because his 22-year-old nephew, Dylan Lagle, had threatened the woman.

When police arrived, Lagle ran out the back door into a tree line. Officer Duprey told Lagle to stop, which is when Lagle dropped a black object in the woods. Lagle stopped and was detained.

After detaining Lagle, the officer searched the area for what Lagle dropped and found a black rectangular box on the ground. In the box was a syringe, a silver spoon with an orange substance on it, and an aluminum disc from the bottom of pop cans.

In Lagle’s room police found a black bookbag that contained a plastic baggy containing a syringe.

Once in the police car, police found a small Harley Davidson bag that contained crystal meth. The bag was located between where Lagle was sitting and the door frame of the police vehicle.

The woman police came to check on reported that Lagle had threatened to break everything in her house
