Commissioners vote to repair security doors at Courthouse Plaza

BEDFORD – The Lawrence County Commissioners voted to pay Hicom Inc. to fix the security doors at Superior Court I at Courthouse Plaza.

The cost of the repairs will be $31,125.60. The commissioners approved the repairs because they were an emergency issue, and they will be paid for with ARP funds.

According to Commissioner Dustin Gabhart, Judge John Plummer III is concerned about the doors presenting a security issue. The electronic door is malfunctioning due to an electrical problem in the control panel.

“Judge Plummer sent a seedy email about the issue,” said Gabhart. “I would declare this as an emergency and make a motion to approve the repair.”

The commissioners approved a three-year contract with ESI for the county’s phone service.
